Narwain's "Dr. JJ" Helps His Patients Struggle With Their Demons

Most psychologists help their patients struggle with their inner demons. In Narwain Publishing's new comic book "Dr. JJ", the patients don't have inner demons. They ARE demons!

Dr. JJ is a successful Manhattan psychologist. He's married, has two beautiful children and is living the good life provided by his flourishing practice. Things take a turn to the dark side when he successfully treats a patient suffering from depression…a patient who turns out to be a demon. Word of mouth spreads through the underworld and soon all manner of evil entities are scheduling appointments with the doctor.

"I wanted to take the irony of sophisticated New Yorkers and blend that with pure horror," says series writer Philip Osbourne, "just as I blended genres with my previous book, 'Jenna'. Hopefully 'Dr. JJ' will appeal to people who enjoy urbane fare like 'Sex and the City' as well as darker themes."

Joining Osbourne on the book are artist Wellington Dias ("C.S.I."), inker Joe Rubinstein ("Formerly Known as the Justice League") and colorist Wayne Robinson ("Wolverine").

The 32-page, full-color one-shot ships in February with a cover price of $3.99. It can be found in the current Diamond Previews catalog on page 302. "Dr. JJ" is suggested for mature readers.
