'Zombie-Sama!' Makes Sushi of the Living Dead the February

In the tradition of 'Dawn of the Dead', 'The Seven Samurai', and 'A Very Brady Sequel' comes… 'Zombie-Sama!'

'Shi' creator Billy Tucci, teams with cutting edge animator John Broglia and Narwain Publishing to deliver a hysterical bite-fest of epic proportions, shipping in regular and special editions this February.

Twenty-something slacker Jim Okami's day couldn't go any worse. The Sushi shop's delivery boy lost a tip due to a flat bicycle tire, got dumped by his girlfriend for rich, blonde-surfer-butthole and, get this, the entire world is now being eaten alive by biologically infected ZOMBIES. As Hell breaks-loose around him, Jim witnesses the great sushi master Sanjiro, armed only with a vast array of filleting knives, heroically overtaken while defending the strip mall.
Like Arthur pulling Excalibur from the stone, Jim instinctively grabs a lone katana honorably stationed above the restaurant's cash register and then…delivery boy Jim Okami is reborn as Zombie-Sama! Outfitted with Sanjiro's beloved cash register katana and chain mail armor lifted from a local scuba shop, "Yo, Jimbo!" will set out on a quest to save one small town from the monstrous multitudes of flesh eating freaks.

"We hope the kids will learn important life lessons, like how to use scuba gear to survive an attack by the walking dead and how much fun it is to lop zombie heads off," said Tucci of his story, "but it's also about honor, being true to oneself and following one's own calling."

'Zombie-Sama!' marks the first of many projects teaming Tucci with Broglia. "John has a very alive, hip, cartoony style, which is perfect for killing zombies and having fun doing it," says Tucci.

'Zombie-Sama!' bears a cover price of $4.99 and contains 48 black and white pages. The 'Zombie-Sama! Special Edition' will be limited to 1000 copies. It'll have a special silk-screened cover and 8 extra color pages with interviews and sketches. The limited edition retails for $12.95. Both books ship in February.
