"All Souls Day" Beckons on DVD January 17, 2006 from Anchor Bay Entertainment

The Mexican celebration known as Dia De Los Muertos – “Day of the Dead” – honors both life and death. But what happens when the horrifying history of a town defiles both? What happens when the dead cannot leave the living alone? On January 17, 2006 Anchor Bay Entertainment, an IDT Entertainment company, reveals the ominous answer with the DVD release of All Souls Day: Dia De Los Muertos, available for the suggested retail price of $19.98.

Horror fans will find much to feast on, as the All Souls Day DVD presents the uncut version of the film, with terrifying never before-seen footage, in a 16x9 widescreen (1.85) transfer with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, as well as a festival worth of insightful special features.

Co-produced by IDT Entertainment and Mindfire Entertainment, through its CFQ Films division, All Souls Day was written by Mark Altman (House of the Dead) and co-produced by Altman and Mark Gottwald (The Specials). Mindfire is a film production company which specializes in the supernatural/thriller/action genre.

All Souls Day stars Ellie Cornell (Halloween 5), Danny Trejo (The Devil’s Rejects, Spy Kids), Laura Harring (The Punisher, Mulholland Drive), Jeffrey Combs (Re-Animator, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer), David Keith (Daredevil), Marisa Ramirez (“General Hospital”), Travis Wester (Eurotrip), Nichole Hiltz (Spanglish), Laz Alonso (Jarhead) and Femmes Fatales magazine covergirl Mircea Munroe (Cellular). Directed by Jeremy Kasten (The Attic Expeditions) and with special effects from Almost Human (“Angel”, “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”), it is a terrifying journey into a world of shocking ceremonies and undead denizens!

In the film, a group of hard-partying students from the OC are stranded in the remote Mexican village of Santa Bonita where a nightmare has lied buried for over a century. There they discover an innkeeper with a dark secret, a sheriff with a shocking past and a holiday that demands the most horrific sacrifice of all. Now the ceremony can commence. The hordes of the undead have been unleashed. And on this day, an unstoppable feast of human flesh has begun!

All Souls Day has already garnered significant buzz among genre and non-genre fans alike, screening as 2005 “Official Selections” of the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, UT and the San Francisco Indie Fest “Another Hole in the Head” Festival.
