TRUE BELIEVER ALERT 11-21-2005

X-23 Shows Up For School in New X-Men #21

After the startling events from last issue where most of the Xavier Institute’s students were rendered powerless, the New X-Men must now face a threat from one of the X-Men’s deadliest villains in New X-Men #21. And if that wasn’t enough, the loose-cannon killer X-23 shows up for school.

William Stryker detests mutants and after the mass depowering of mutants following the events of the House of M, he sees this as a sign from God. Now is his chance to purge the rest of the mutants from the Earth and he plans on starting with the students of the Xavier Institute.

The kids find themselves at their most vulnerable and the combination of Stryker, infighting amongst the team, and the addition of the wildcard X-23 may finally be enough to end school forever in New X-Men #21.

The FF’s souls are on the line in Marvel Knights 4 #25

Magic rears its ugly head in the Fantastic Four’s neighborhood leading many of the FF’s magical friends and foes to come out of the woodwork in Marvel Knights 4 #25.

It’s the beginning of a whole new arc of the occult with an all-new penciler joining the title in Mizuki Sakakibara.

"With 'The Resurrection of Nicholas Scratch,' I'm getting to bring back some of my favorite classic characters from the FF mythos,” says Ten Terrific writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “Agatha Harkness, the witch who used to be Franklin's nanny and was seemingly dead; her insane son, the warlock Nicholas Scratch; and the mutant-witches Salem's Seven... Not to mention Dr. Strange and, in Parts Two and Three of the three-part arc, Diablo.”

When the order of the physical world and the neather-realms become unbalanced, a dark storm comes out that threatens all of existence. This sacred balance is thrown out of whack when the Salem’s Seven attempt to resurrect their father, the warlock Nicholas Scratch.

“It's a lot of mayhem and magic,” promises Aguirre-Sacasa, “Which is, of course, one of the few realms the FF haven't yet conquered. Lots of fun, action, and cool horror."

The Fantastic Four have triumphed over incredible odds many times before, but how will they react when its their souls on the line in Marvel Knights 4 #25?

Santa Showdown in Punisher: Silent Night

Its nearly Christmas time and everyone is getting into the spirit of the holidays. Everyone except Frank Castle, The Punisher, that is.

In Punisher: Silent Night, the Punisher doesn’t spend the weeks leading up to Christmas buying presents. No, Castle is more interested in tracking down a mob rat in the witness protection agency and giving him a “holey” night, if you catch the drift.

But it’s never that easy, is it? In order to get to this mob rat, Frank is going to have to face a foe unlike any other he has faced before.

He’s fat, dressed in red, has a white beard, and is looking to cross the Punisher off of his list. Its sure to be the showdown of the season with plenty of Yule-time holiday fun in Punisher: Silent Night.
